A Chance to Hear Our Commitment

| Herbert Silverstein
is not only a dedicated physician, researcher, professor and
philanthropist - he is also an accomplished musician. Fascinated
by the complicated rhythms of the jazz idiom, Dr. Silverstein
has been challenged to perform the music he so enjoyed while
growing up. Not only has he learned to interpret the jazz
classics, he has succeeded in composing many exciting jazz
pieces. Dr. Silverstein has just completed the recording of
his ninth jazz CD, Beach
Walker.

Herb is forever grateful to the many
people who have crossed his musical path and helped him fulfill his goals. Such
teachers as Danny Zirpoli, Don Riddell, Dr. Mark Lawson, Fred Williams, Dr.
Billy Taylor, Michael Royal, Sandra Lawler, Manfredo Fest, and most recently,
Michael Markaverich have all given him continued incentive to play and the
encouragement to reach forward. He extends many thanks to Bob Lunergan, vibes
player and drummer, and Greg Voorhees, bassist and superb mix-down artist who
have been with Herb since the beginning and who continue to make great music.
"You guys are the best!"
Special thanks also to his sons David and
Gary who first introduced him to jazz, and to his wife Beth, his best supporter
and source of inspiration. As with all his musical efforts, all proceeds for
this production go to the Ear Research Foundation. Funds help move forward
research, education and treatment for deafness and dizziness.
Thank you, kind listener, for your
continued support of the Ear Research Foundation, so it too can give the gift of
sound. |
